Where Will You Spend Eternity?

I think everyone can agree that in the in last 20 years, the world has changed dramatically. Yet one thing remains the same despite all these uncertainties – we will all die someday!

Have you ever sat down and thought about where you will go when you die?

It’s a very scary, but necessary notion to think about.

Some people believe there is a paradise or a heaven prepared for those who do mostly good while on earth and likewise a hell for those who do mostly bad. Well the truth is that there is a place called Heaven where God lives (Matt. 5:34, Matt. 5:45, Matt. 7:21) and a place called Hell which was created for those who rebel against God (2Pet.2:4, Ps. 9:17).

When you die, your soul goes to either of these places for eternity. In Heaven, where God dwells, there is no sin (Rev. 21:27, 1Cor.6:6-9). He will not allow sin in Heaven because He is holy. Man has a sin nature indwelling since the fall of the first man – Adam. (Rom.3:9-18, 23) We inherently do bad things because of the sin of Adam which has been passed down from generation to generation. Even when we try to do good things they fall short of God’s standard (Isa. 64:6). Sin separates us from God. It is whatever we do that is rebellious to God’s commandments (Exod. 20:2-17). That’s why we cannot enter Heaven and we are spiritually separated from God (Rom. 3:10-12).

On the other hand, Hell is a place that holds all unrepentant sinners – all who have been charged guilty with sin (Rom.3:19).

So how do we enter Heaven when we have stumbling block called sin?

Great question!

God will not and cannot forgive man’s sin based on his good works (Isa.64:6) or his begging for forgiveness. Just like in the Old Testament, where God required blood sacrifices to cover the sin of man, God also demanded a blood sacrifice in order to wipe out man’s sin forever. Someone pure had to die in man’s place to pay the price.

So God in His mercy and love prepared a way to deal with the stain of sin in humanity. He sent His only begotten Son – Jesus Christ – to be born of a virgin Mary, to live a sinless life, and to die a bloody death so that He can wash our sins away to stand righteous before God! (John1:14, 1Jn.1:9, John 3:16).

Your sin has been dealt with once and for all! What GOOD NEWS!

You don’t have to spend eternity in Hell because Someone has paid the price by taking upon Himself your sin (which He never committed) (Jn.1:29). Jesus was the lowly Lamb Who sacrificed His life and shed His Blood so that the wrath of God against us could be appeased (1 Jn.4:10).

So God gave Jesus so that we could be saved from Hell and live at peace with Him eternally!

The Gospel of salvation is clearly stated in these verses of Scripture:

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” -1 Cor.15:1-4

My friend, you can be saved today – by REALIZING you are a lost sinner, REPENTING, and BELIEVING on the BLOOD ATONEMENT and finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross to PAY FOR YOUR SINS!

You cannot be good enough to be saved. Salvation does not come by your good works (Eph.2:8-9). It’s not about what you do or can do because it can never be enough to appease God. Jesus is the only One who could take your sins (past, present, and future) upon Himself because He was sinless (Heb.4:15).

Please realize that to be saved, you must put your TRUST ON THE BLOOD of Jesus Christ shed at the cross that it is SUFFICIENT to SAVE YOUR SOUL. We cannot justify ourselves, only God is the JUSTIFIER. (Rom.3:25-28, Rom.5:9)

Today is your day, friend.

Which will you choose? Faith in the blood atonement of Jesus Christ to pay for your sins to spend an eternity with a Holy and Loving God? Or a rebellious life, trusting in yourself, and thereby be cast into a horrifying Hell?

I hope you choose wisely… and soon.
